1% Better: Being Decisive

“A bird hanging between two branches will get bitten on both wings” - Ethiopian Proverb

Curious?

“What’s for dinner tonight?”

“Eh, doesn’t matter to me; whatever you want.”

“Which shirt do you like better?”

“I think both look good!”

“Should I get up and work out?”

Have you ever found yourself in these conversations with a friend, your partner, or maybe even with yourself? Most of you are nodding along right now, and if you’re not… well, we all know that’s just wishful thinking.

But what’s at the heart of each of these exchanges?

It’s the absence of a decision.

Why does that matter? Taken alone, each of these moments might seem small. A missed workout here, an unmade decision there—it’s nothing on its own, right? But imagine if every time you asked a question, you got the same non-answer, or if every time you thought about exercising, you shrugged it off.

It builds up. That pattern becomes a habit. And habits, like it or not, shape who we are. If every time we ask ourselves, “Should I?” we leave it unanswered, we risk becoming the very thing we once promised ourselves we’d never become—unmotivated, unhealthy, unfulfilled.

And here’s the kicker: in each of these indecisive moments, we’ve spent a valuable resource—our time. Every “I don’t know” is time slipping through our fingers. Every avoided decision is accountability eroding.

Decisions matter. They’re the bridges between where we are and where we want to be. So the next time you ask yourself, “Should I?” be the one who answers, “Yes, I should.” or says “No.”

Take a step, make a choice, and watch as each decision builds toward something bigger than the moment—it builds you.

Forward Physio Upcoming Events:

  • We have a few events in the works that we’re extremely excited about. We can’t wait to share them with you once they’re finalized!

Right outside of Amalie Arena where the Tampa Bay Lightning play

  • We just participated in a collaborative event hosted by Rolling Proud Run Club and the Tampa Bay Lightning. It was hosted in Thunder Alley right outside Amalie Arena. Needless to say, it was incredible. We were extremely grateful for the opportunity to part of this event and had a blast! Thank you to Gio, Claude, the other vendors, and everyone who stopped by and said hi and received recovery services from us! Check out a quick recap of the event here.

Have a great Friday and weekend and remember to keep functioning Forward!
