Happy Friday! We hope that everyone was able to weather Hurricane Helene and stay safe! We hope the best for everyone affected. We can only imagine how devastating and painful it is to experience flooding and any other impacts of Hurricane Helene. It may take a while to fully recover, but as a community St. Pete and Tampa will become stronger than ever.

Building on the topic of consistency — achieving goals, improving your health, and becoming the best at something requires a lot of it. Here are some examples of consistency and its impact:

  • Steve Jobs was fired, from his own company……that he started. What happened after that? He went on and founded one of the most successful tech businesses, if not most, to date. Some of you may know of Apple or even be reading this from an Apple device!

  • Colonel Sanders who started KFC (yes he is a real person!) took a decade to perfect his secret recipe and was rejected up to 1,000 times before finding a partner who would work with him.

  • Michael Jordan didn’t even make his high school varsity basketball team and we all know how that story goes.

These people all shared similar traits, one of the most important of them being consistency. No matter the repeated rejection and failures each of these individuals pushed forward. Imagine if all of these influential giants gave up after each failure — we may never have had the iPhone, a mediocre food chain, or one of the best basketball players to ever live.

If we apply consistency to our own goals like working out pain free, training to run your first marathon, or setting a new PR in your lifts they can be accomplished. Hopefully these things won’t take you a decade to do — but understand that there may will be failures along the way. This is the most common thing amongst successful people — failure. Don’t give up on yourself, stay consistent, and stay positive.
