“Our life is frittered away by detail…simplify, simplify” Henry David Thoreau
Curious?
Have you ever wondered…
If the exercises you’re doing are going to make you feel better or worse? If the intensity you’re doing your exercises at is too much? Not enough? If the exercise that caused your injury will ever be safe to do again?
If so, you aren’t alone.
Many people ask us these questions. Unfortunately, theres not an easy answer to any of them. Everyone’s experiences are different and require a different approach.
Some may need more intensity, some less. Maybe that one exercise isn’t great for you at this point in time or maybe it’s just right. You might need to modify the exercise you're doing but might not need to stop it.
I know what you’re thinking…
None of those answers helped me at all. They are way too simple.
But thats the beauty of it.
Most the time we do not need an extensive workaround to a problem we are experiencing. We need simplify the problem.
For example: We all at some point in our lives have done algebra.
If you have 9x+3-6(4+5)=3. Solve for x. (answer provided below)
Most people can’t just look at that and have the answer (certainly not me). But if you begin to simplify the problem by following PEMDAS (acronym for the order of operations to solve the problem, explanation linked) the problem becomes a lot easier to solve.
It’s simple but not easy. That’s where Forward Physio comes in. We help you understand what you need to simplify and make it easy for you, your PEMDAS. The order of operations to help you feel and perform your best and keep you out of pain.
PS: The answer is 6. Hyperlink is to see the math if you are curious.
Marathon season
Follow along on our instagram @fwd.physio to see Dr. Nick train for his first marathon on February 9th. There will be updates on training, paces he achieves, and any setbacks/difficulties he faces along the way.
Dr. Nick has begun to utilize RunDot for his training. RunDot helps you achieve the paces you want. The app provides targets to achieve during your runs for pace, power, and heart rate. This is a great way to simplify your training for a 5k,10k, or marathon!
