I'm not superstitious just a little stitious. Happy Friday the 13th!

Happy Friday the 13th! Either the luckiest or most unlucky Friday of the year depending on who you are. As long as you aren’t at Camp Crystal, you should consider yourself lucky 😉

“Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet” Jean-Jacques Rousseau
We’ve all been there. I know personally, it happens to me everyday. Wanting instant gratification for something that takes time.
For example, it takes exactly one minute and 30 seconds for my oatmeal to cook and exactly an eternity for it to cool down.
If I take a bite too soon, my mouth is burnt, and eating sucks for the next 3 days.
If I wait a couple of minutes for it to cool down and settle, I get a sweet, delectable, fulfilling bite of oatmeal. That makes me happy.
Just like waiting for your favorite food to cool down (oatmeal is definitely far from my favorite food, but it is delicious), healing from injuries takes time and patience. If you are impatient, you may end up hurting yourself. This in turn, sets you back from your goal, and can make it less enjoyable (in this example, eating food).
Curious?
This week, staying on the topic of patience, I wanted to give you a few examples of healing times for a few common injuries. Everyone is different and healing times vary, but these are the average times for healing. These timelines are not meant to scare you, they are meant to provide education and perspective!
Tendon injury — from 2 weeks up to 12 months
Muscle strain — 2 weeks up to 9+ months depending on severity
Ligament sprain — 1 week - 2+ months depending on severity
